  1. 🚜 Europe’s largest outdoor event and one of the most iconic times in the Irish calendar The National Ploughing Championships takes place from the 17th - 19th in Ratheniska, Co. Laois. From farming to fooding, if you want a glimpse of the real Ireland this is the event for you!

1. Dublin

🍺 If you’re looking for some live music and delicious food this weekend why not get a ticket for Super Nights At Opium With Asahi Super Dry this Thursday 19th. With music from DJ Marcus O Laoire and mouth-watering Asian food, this is a great way to ring in the weekend.

🎭 The multi-award winning musical Hamilton is arriving for its tour dates at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre TOMORROW! Come experience Lin-Manuel Miranda’s cultural classic in the heart of the city.

✍️ The International Dublin’s Writers’ Festival invites writers to learn, network and improve their craft. A perfect event to connect with the literary culture of Dublin. (Sept 20th - 22nd)

2. Ulster

🌑 The full moon is visible this weekend in Killinchy, Co. Down so why not observe it from the water with a Full Moon Paddle out on Strangford Lough. After the guided, twilight paddle tour the group will return to base to warm up with some hot chocolates & treats.

🇲🇽 Tequila! The National is hosting an incredible tequila experience called VIVA FIESTA in Belfast tonight. There will be cocktails, authentic Mexican grub and a party that will go on till the early hours. Now that is how you kick off the week right!

🎻 This weekend Arranmore Island will host the Aranmore Country Fest. There will be music from the likes of Jimmy Buckley & Band as well as Philomena Begley + much more. This is an incredible opportunity to soak in the real Ireland!

🍞 Located on the island of Inishbofin the Bia Bó Finne Food Festival will have various food-related events such as beer making and foraging sessions taking place. An incredible and unique place to immerse yourself in the local cuisine. (Sept 20th - 22nd)

🦪 If you don’t fancy a trip out to Inishbofin for some grub why not check out the Taste of Sligo Food Festival. Sample a delicious array of local cuisine, meet some celebrity chefs and take in the vibrant culture of Sligo town.

🎶 Are you heading to Galway this weekend and perhaps you’re in the mood for catching some local football? Well Galway United vs Shelbourne FC kicks off at 19:45 on Friday and tickets are going for €18.00.

4. Leinster

🎭 The Watergate Players Collective brings together theatre lovers across Kilkenny. This weekend you can see Irish playwriting legend, Martin McDonagh’s classic ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan’. Pick up your tickets here.

 🧅 This Sunday Soearth Projects are hosting a Foraging & Buffet on the stunning estate of Hartwell, Kill, Co. Kildare. This is a great event if you’re a veteran forager or just getting into it. The buffet will be comprised of savoury and sweet foraged and locally sourced treats.

💡 If you’re in Carlow on Culture Night a must-see is the Echoes of Light And Shadow: A Luminary Light Exhibition a demonstration of Longford’s rich history. Enjoy a peaceful evening of art and creativity.

🔥 The Irish Hot Air Balloon Championship (yes you heard that right) is taking place in Tullamore, Co. Offaly this weekend starting on Saturday. This year marks the 52nd edition of this competition and will feature up to 30 hot air balloons and their crews from around the world.

5. Munster

📖 Storytelling is a key part of Irish culture and Seanchoíche has reignited the flames of this age-old tradition with their evenings of storytelling and laughter. Join the waiting list for their event next week in Kinsale, Co.Cork here.

🏉 There is nothing like a game of rugby between two Irish clubs to get the blood flowing! This Saturday, Thomond Park will play host to Munster vs Connacht. A brilliant fixture that guarantees a big atmosphere and a great day out.

🎧 Dirty Disco and Cyrpus Avenue are thrilled to be welcoming one of Ireland’s hottest rising DJs SHEE to Cork this Thursday 19th. If you haven’t seen the Kerry native before you’re in for a great night of big tunes! get your tickets here.

✏️ This weekend marks the 9th edition of the Listowel Storytelling Festival. From Thursday - Sunday there will be a host of various events celebrating and encouraging the classic art of storytelling. Check out the full schedule here.
